Shameless Promotion

Greetings. I am Eevee, and this is my.. experiment. It is not so much a web site as a testing ground for whatever I happen to be doing at the moment. For quite a while, that has been the construction of an epic Pokédex, but on the off chance it is ever finished to my satisfaction, I have plenty more ideas for applications to write. In other words, this is not nor was it ever intended to be yet another Pokémon site.

You are welcome to create a community here (when the forum happens to be working), but I make no effort whatsoever to censor anything or adhere to any sort of "rating". I also have a bit of a problem with people who cannot get enough of their own inane babble and people who cannot string two words together coherently to save their lives. I suggest you keep that in mind if you wish to "contribute". Beyond that, I think nitpick rules are the fastest way to create a religion, so I try to avoid it at all costs.

If you wish to actually contribute -- i.e., look at and amend the code -- drop me a line and we'll see what we can do. Veekun is written in Perl and running atop Catalyst on FastCGI. PHP sucks. Hard.

I am also distributing my raw Pokédex data, as I think it's ridiculous to claim ownership of data someone else invented that I collected. If you would like it, you can get a MySQL-compatible dump from my code repository. Fair warning: the schema has no real documentation at the moment and is subject to change without notice.

I am wide open to suggestions, comments, criticisms, improvements, and free money.

Update: The official site has updated with a high quality version of the ad. Filb.de and 2ch.net have recently released a low-quality video featuring a commercial for the upcoming games Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The commercial promotes the pre-ordering of the games on Saturday, July 4.

The official Japanese Web site for the 12th Pokémon movie has been redesigned. It also received some minor updates, including more information on Arceus and the Pikachu-colored Pichu. The update also includes some promotional merchandise — some of the goods feature mysterious silhouettes with question marks.

I have fixed 32 bugs and otherwise resolved another 13. Half of them with Platinum moves. Oops.

Platinum and Spline
It has come to my attention that, whoops, Platinum is out. I had intended to update veekun before the US release, but my vacation visiting PurpleKecleon got in the way. I should have something clunky up within a day or two, but I didn't want to work on this codebase too much more, so it might not be beautiful.

Spline is chugging along slowly, but I am generally pleased with the results so far. I suppose I should throw up a beta sometime, but it's woefully incomplete; is anyone that direly interested in seeing this bare skeleton?

Hmm. If you have the Pokeyen, put the Pokemon you want to level in the daycare, go into the factory South of Eternia Forest, walk into the push tile, tape down the controler button and leave the DS plugged into the charger all night. Level your Pokemon without playing! You may want to EV train before hand, though, if that matters.

Yea I've tried I just can't seem to get my head in the game. But I think I can play, I just spent the last hour getting in the mood, so I'm going to try and play in a bit, and see how that goes.

Have you tried, I don't know, maybe leaving the game on for more than two minutes? That seems like the logical first step to me.

Guys I have a serious problem. I can't seem to play pokemon for more than two minutes. I would really like to play exspecially to get my ice team built, I have chosen all of the pokemon, and the movesets, and everything, but I just can't seem to play to raise any of the pokemon. Please someone help. I haven't been able to play since the last tournament that I hosted.

I love the legendary battle music for roamers. I'm out grinding for a lucky egg when suddenly... bells chime... horns sing... drums beat... and the techno starts. It's suitably more epic than the regular music.
